Artist Statement

As an artist, I am constantly exploring the complexities and nuances of the human experience. One subject that has consistently captivated me is the portrayal of young beauty queens. On the surface, these paintings may seem to simply depict the external beauty and poise of these young women. However, for me, they represent so much more.

These young women, although beautiful and confident on the outside, often carry with them the weight and challenges of being raised by someone who put their own needs above their child’'s. As I paint, I strive to capture the subtle emotions and vulnerabilities that lie beneath the polished facade of these beauty queens. It is my hope that, through my art, I can shed light on the often-unseen struggles and complexities of these young women’'s experiences, and encourage viewers to consider the deeper meaning behind these seemingly glamorous subjects.
