Bio
Claire Godbee is an artist living and working in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the spring of 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Her work has been exhibited in Abroms-Engel Institute for Visual Arts, Birmingham Public Library Gallery, the Grand Bohemian Gallery, Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment, and other venues in the southeast.
Godbee’s work explores and celebrates the female form and experience. With an underlying theme of self-discovery, she creates dream-like environments that are concentrated on emotion and the development of a deeper awareness. Godbee utilizes color, pattern, and paralleled postures to create environments that borderline reverie and reality, which reveals her variety of narratives embodying growth, identity, unity, and purpose.
