Create! Magazine and PxP Contemporary celebrated a fantastic and well-attended opening reception at the Paradigm Arts Building in Philadelphia. The exhibition, 'Chroma', featured works from over 40 local, national and international emerging artists exploring the theme of color, vibrancy and intensity in their work.

"Chroma" is curated by Alicia Puig, CEO of PxP Contemporary and Director of Create! Magazine, and Ekaterina Popova, Founder of Create! Magazine. It celebrates the expressive potential of color and showcases the myriad interpretations it inspires. Through this dynamic juried show, artists and viewers alike discover the rich and diverse possibilities of color explored through paper cutting, painting, wall sculpture, mixed media, collage, drawing and more.

Aside from this exciting group exhibition’s opening reception, our team additionally celebrated the recent release of Create! Magazine Issue 36, juried by The Jealous Curator, and our new book, The Creative Business Handbook. We met so many community members at this highly-anticipated event and are incredibly grateful to every artist and collector who attended. Of course, we also want to extend our deepest thanks to our partners Paradigm Gallery + Studio for letting us rent their gorgeous 3rd floor space.

Also on view at Paradigm Gallery is the solo exhibition FINE HOUSE, by painter Crystal Latimer. The exhibition features eight tapestry paintings depicting moments of power, such as bears in battle, and reinterprets them through a delicate process and medium by using acrylics, gold leaf, pastel crayon, and cotton fiber tassels. Latimer chose to work with local creative businesses, Tuft the World and Butterfield Editions, to create three collaborative pieces. Rugs produced by Tuft the World, and wallpaper printed in-house by Butterfield Editions at the Paradigm Arts Building will be the first instances of Crystal Latimer's work crossing over into other creative disciplines.

FINE HOUSE will be on view on the first floor of the Paradigm Arts Building (12 N. 3rd Street) from July 7 through July 30, 2023. Contact the gallery for additional information about Crystal’s work or exhibition.
