Avec Art Consulting and The Story Factory presents, CHAMELEON, a collaborative debut from international art sensation, Alloyius Mcilwaine. CHAMELEON will run from August 12th - August 27th, 2023 at Philadelphia's new creative venue, The Story Factory, with an opening reception being held from 6-9pm on Saturday, August 12th (RSVP here).

With collaborations from over 30 leading contemporary artists featured in the show, each work will be tied together by Mcilwaine’s expressive use of color and geometric patterns. This dynamic group of artists from across the globe span a range of practices including sculpture, painting, printmaking, drawing, and mosaic glass. The collection will reflect the diversity of each artist’s individual, regional, and cultural identities while sharing Mcilwaine’s signature themes of positivity, light, and unity.

The show will include works by Kyle Confehr, Isabelle Staub, James Dupree, Nathan Paddison, Tim Mcfarlane, Cathy White, Gloss Black, Nicholas Megalis, Lawren Alice, Roger Wing, Emily Taylor Rodgers, and many more.

About Alloyius Mciwaine:

Philadelphia-born and based artist, Alloyius McIlwaine, paints in a signature style that colorfully combines street art, pop art, and comic book illustration. Whether painting a mural or on canvas, his work dances freely in colored planes, vibrating with geometric abstraction. He often features symbolic shapes, “kudoglyphs”, which give visual language to positive affirmations. After experimenting with watercolor, acrylic, oil, charcoal, and sculpture, McIlwaine found peace in the abstract, freestyled murals, developed on-site without any expectations of the outcome. This freedom of expression, of allowing the art to flow through him, led to the development of a signature artistic language that floats happily between figuration and abstraction. It is energetic, playful, vigorously free, and happy. McIlwaine has created a vast body of recognizable work recently including national artistic campaigns for Pepsi x Philadelphia Eagles, NBC Universal, Makers Mark, Pressed Juicery, Honeygrow, and more.

About The Story Factory:

The Story Factory, launched and led by Helm Creative Studio’s Ashlee and Elijah Hollis, is a 27,000 sq. foot corner-block building in Philadelphia, wrapped in mural art and led with a mission to “build stories out to build people up.” With recording studios, customizable stages, livestream-worthy lighting and sound, photography studios, a green room, storage areas, meeting rooms, cafe areas, and more, this is where dreams transform into tangible actions. Currently, The Story Factory hosts Helm Creative Studio, CitySpheres, and iCreate - an after-school music mentorship program which provides a place for students to be off the streets and to process their pain, on-purpose as they create the future sound of Philadelphia.
