Affordable Art Fair's Fellowship Program is a new initiative inviting Greater New York arts organizations founded within the last five years to submit a curatorial proposal to participate as an exhibitor in a dedicated Fellowship booth on Level 2 of the fair.

Awarded applicants are invited to participate free of charge for three consecutive editions, matriculating from a 100 square-foot booth in their first edition ($6,700+ value) to a 120 square-foot booth in their second edition ($8,040+ value), and finally a 150 square-foot booth ($10,050+ value) in the third and final edition. The program makes its debut with an inaugural Fellow for the Affordable Art Fair Spring 2023 edition.

By Spring of 2024, the Fellowship will operate at full capacity with three Fellows, inviting one new organization to exhibit at Affordable Art Fair New York with each upcoming edition. The Fellowship is therefore a 3-fair commitment (18-month commitment) for each participating Fellow as we host two fairs annually in New York in the Spring and Fall.

The Fellowship is intended to grant up-and-coming arts organizations with an opportunity to showcase their community’s work to a wider audience of collectors and enthusiasts. The program is conceived to encourage and amplify the reach and long-term commercial viability of Fellows by underwriting them and providing the resources and platform necessary for commerce, marketing, and community-building.

Fellowship Benefits:

Promotion and Marketing

The Affordable Art Fair team will issue a press release, promote the initiative with select members of the press, and promote the Fellowship to visitors via onsite programming and pre-fair editorial coverage as it will be a main attraction at each of the editions. Affordable Art Fair will also publicize the initiative via its social media channels in the lead up and throughout the duration of the fair. Fellows will continue to receive dedicated promotion and PR attention during their 3-edition matriculation through the program.  Any programming undertaken in collaboration with the Fellow will also garner public relations attention, inclusion in a programming announcement press release, and dedicated publicity via the Affordable Art Fair Instagram.

Professional Mentorship

By the very nature of the Fellowship Program, participants will receive a significant in-kind value, including subsidized stand costs, basic stand design, and support with the curation and execution of their projects. The Fellowship is intended to provide emergent artist collectives and non-profits with resources and guidance in the promotion of their artists, the execution of their marketing strategies, and the cultivation of collector relations, and ultimately the foundation of a critical sales pipeline.
