Victoria Gilles Fernández is a graphic designer and potter from Buenos Aires, Argentina, currently based in Manchester, UK. Her new collection focuses on inlaid vases, plates and wall hangings. It is an ongoing series about connections and distances. She makes compositions, like collages, where she plays with cuts of stained clay, underglazes and glazes to create abstract landscapes, more like maps or instructions of how to get from A to B. They talk about her perceptions as an immigrant, the difficulties she encountered, her wish to bond with the new and honor the past. They are like roadmaps to understanding her present.

Victoria is currently showing a limited collection of ceramics with our partner gallery PxP Contemporary! Check it out here.
