Ruchira Amare, the creative force behind the zero-waste clothing label Y.R. Egon, is a contemporary painter, fashion illustrator, and designer based out of Brooklyn, New York. Born and raised in India, Ruchira pursued a career in engineering before transitioning to visual art. After completing her degree from the University of Mumbai, she went on to study fashion at the renowned Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Wearing multiple hats as a creative professional, Ruchira has developed a distinct artistic style imbued with escapism, passion, and nostalgia. Her latest series of abstract paintings “Hanging Lights” draws influence from traditional Indian folk art and French Impressionism.

Ruchira’s artwork has been exhibited at Dacia Gallery, Greenpoint Gallery, Six Summit Gallery, Colors of Humanity, The Leo House and Rochester Contemporary Art Center. Her fashion illustrations have been shown at New York Fashion Week.
