Kimberly Engel is a contemporary abstract painter living in Clearwater, Florida. Her distinct gestural style combines a love for color interaction with spontaneous mark making. Engel’s paintings explore levels of transparency, evoking depth, and natural light. After a decade-long sojourn in a house overlooking Lake Erie in northern Ohio, followed by her 2011 move to the Gulf of Mexico, she is inspired above all by the constant presence and changing states of large bodies of water.
In 2002, she received a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Over the past decade, she has exhibited in numerous shows throughout the United States. Engel’s work is in the permanent art collection of Capright Corporation, Chicago.
