Feeling a little lost.I'm new Create magazine as well as to this site. I was dearly hoping that the forums were for connecting with others in creative fields. There's so much talent on this site I'm constantly amazed!!! I would deerly love the opportunity to 'talk' with you and ask questions and soak up all of the knowledge that must exist here!!! Truthfully, I have no clue what the guidelines are for 'blogging' and I actually wouldn't care anyway. I would still use this space to say: Hello! I've been dying for the chance to connect with others, to marvel over your work and ask some questions!! So please, come tell me what you've been doing, what you dream of doing or just say a quick 'hi'!! ~Wishing you love and other in door sports~ --Lisa

It's really good to know that I'm not out of line with these little blurbs that I've posted!! I'm not all that savvy when it comes to forums and blogs, not yet at least. It's very reassuring that their are so many nice people willing to say hi and provide a few pointers, thank you both!!! This is the nicest way to start a Monday!! By: Lisa_Sage 05/12/2008 01:19 PM I'd rather have the self-promo sites be set up under a "Business/Commercial" forum heading, because a lot of times, the personal blogs/forums are pushed further down the queue and overlooked by many. (Yes, I know there's a Chat Room, but seriously, when is there anyone ever in it?) But I understand it's a fine line between what is self-promo and what is useful info that people may not go to or skip over if under such a heading, soI guess this is probably the best solution. Unless someone can think of a better one... By: Mr. K 05/12/2008 09:21 AM You are on the right track as to what the blogs really should be for on this site. They seem to run a split (about 50/50) between blatant self-promotion (again, not that there is anything wrong with that) and genuine communication for the sake of sharing and/or overall interest in the community. It seems like there are no rules and I think common sense guidelines will place you squarely on the right track. PLUS, you can give the ol' Chat Room a try. That seems to be a good place for a quick, "hi," and once in a while, someone says hi back (or maybe even a "what up, yo). Welcome. By: Ad Infinitum 05/10/2008 03:20 PM |
